Cottage. C17 or possibly earlier; remodelled early - mid C19 in a Picturesque
Tudor Gothic style. Limewashed rubble and coursed rubble; thatched roof, slate
roof over extension to north; rubble and rendered stacks, some square and some
circular, two are inset with pebbles. The east elevation is traditional; of a
single storey with attics in eyebrow dormers. Four 2- and 3-light casement
windows with ovolo moulded mullions or with gothick lights; one large pane sash
window to the right. The extension to the north is of 2 bays and a single
storey, with C19 and C20 casement windows. Pannelled and studded door off-centre
to left, under a projecting thatched hood. The west elevation is irregular and
asymmetrical; single storey and attics in gables and dormers. 4 irregular bays.
To the right is a 2 storey and single bay, advanced, gabled wing with an
elaborate fretwork bargeboard and 3-light casement windows with cusped tracery
and a square hoodmould. In the re-entrant angle is a projecting gabled porch;
thatched with an enriched fretwork barrgeboard, rustic piers and a studded door
with a 4-centred head. To the left of the porch a single, stone pointed light
is on the ground floor and a 2-light casement with cusped gothick stone tracery
is on the first floor. Next to the upper window gabled dormer projects, with
an elaborate bargeboard and a lined out rendered section below. Further left
is a brick projecting porch with a cusped bargeboard and beyond is a 2 bay
section with plain 2- and 3-light casement windows.
