II
Farmhouse. Mid C17, refronted mid C18, C19 and C20 alterations and additions.
Sandstone rubble, rendered, pantiled roof with brick gable stacks, double Roman
tiled catslide to rear roof. Irregular plan formed by accumulation. 2 storeys
and 3 windows, all sashes in exposed boxes except ground floor right C20
replacement sash, central 4-panelled door with overlight, plain pilasters and
pediment, plinth, high parapet and coping. Right return has ground floor small
sash and 4-pane attic light; under catslide 20-pane sash at ground floor and
small sash at first floor; lower rear wing to right of 2 storeys and 2 windows
with ridge and gable stacks, ground floor plank and batten door in moulded frame,
porch with shaped gable, similar 20-pane sash, first floor has 6-pane light and
small sash under eaves; to right, probably former cider room has chamfered door
frame cut back for passage of barrels, door with heavy strap hinges and pierced
hearts for ventilation, small 2-pane light to right, battered walls. Left return
has 4-pane attic light; under catslide at ground floor a sash in exposed box and
first floor sash with margin glazing, small single storey addition and 2-light
casement at ground floor rear; 2 attached additions to left with covered area
under pitched pantiled roof, ground floor has 2-light casement and heavy plank and
batten door, single light in first floor gable end; it storey block to left has
C20 large multi-pane light set in round-headed recess with keystone, not rendered.
Rear has 2 rooflights to main house, 2 gable ends of earlier buildings at rear, to
left similar-heavy door with strap hinges, C20 2-light casement above, brick gable
stack to right. Interior: not inspected.
