Farmhouse. Early - mid C17 with later alterations and additions, including C19
and C20 replacement of windows. Rubble, rendered, double Roman tiled roof with
raised coped verges and gable stacks. T-plan formed by accumulation. Front of
2 1½ storeys, to right, a projecting gabled bay with ground and first floor 3-light
casement with ovolo mullions and continuous string courses above lintels returned
to right, similar 3-light window in gable with hood mould, to right side of bay,
similar single light at ground and first floor, plinth, battered walls and parapet
returned to end stack; attached to left and set in angle of T-plan, a 2-storey
flat-roofed addition with 2-light casement at upper level with reserved-chamfer
mullion; in front of addition, single storey C20 porch with door and 4-light
casement with ovolo mullions; 2-storey wing projecting to left has 2 former
ground floor openings concealed by C20 attached garage and single ovolo-moulded
attic light in gable end; inner side of wing has 2-light similar casement under
eaves; all casements of C20. Right return has single storey rubble outhouse
attached, chimney bay set forward, similar single light at ground and first floor
right. Left return has straight joint between front wing and gable end of house;
wing has ground floor 3-light casement, two 2-light at first floor and small
2-light under eaves; gable end to left has ground floor C20 plate-glass window,
two 2-light at first floor, single and 3-light at attic, first floor to right has
original reserved chamfer mullion, attic 3-light casement has original ovolo
mullions, battered wall; attached to left a lower 2-storey C19 wing, with ground
floor C20 window, porch and door, C20 window and 3-light casement under eaves.
Rear repeats gabled bay as on front, parapet terminated to right at junction with
further building, as on front, possibly originally had external stack bay as at
right return; narrow 2-storey C19 addition to right with C20 door, single light
at first floor and pitched roof; 2-storey flat-roofed addition to right in angle
with C19 wing, with door and C20 light at ground and first floor; rear of wing
has C20 window at ground floor and under eaves, single storey outhouse attached to
gable end. Interior: few chamfered beams remaining, most original internal
features removed; 2 bays of roof in main range visible, principal rafters, collars
and one row of purlins, front wing of 2 similar bays, trapdoor remaining for
former cheese hoist to rear. Former windows had wooden ovolo mullions, replaced
in reconstructed stone. Regilbury Park Farmhouse is fragment of former mansion
