Farmhouse. Early C18 with some later alterations. Red brick, limestone
dressings, hipped pantiled roof with stack to rear, double Roman tiles. T-plan
formed by rear wing. 3 storeys and 5 windows, ground and first floor 18-pane
sashes, 2nd floor sashes, all with thick glazing bars, mostly crown-glass,
moulded wooden cills and segmental heads, central 6-panelled door with overlight,
moulded frame, flat hood with panelled underside on scrolled brackets; brick
quoin strips, string courses above ground and first floor lintels of 2 courses of
brick, parapet and limestone cornice. Left return has similar sash at ground
and first floor right, blank at 2nd floor, strings and cornice returned. Left
return has lean-to concealing segmental-headed cellar entrance, ground floor left
blocked door opening (cupboard internally), first and 2nd floor blocked window to
left; later C18/early C19 1 1/2 storey lean-to attached to rear right with door in
plain frame, 4-light casement, gable stack to right, double Roman tiled roof;
further single storey addition to right with door and 3-light casement. Rear
has single storey C20 lean-to, rendered, with single light, door and 3-light
casement, roof level of addition to left raised with C20 window; rear of main
house has first floor blocked window to left and 4-pane light to right, both with
gauged brick heads, string course above, central upper 2nd floor sash with wide
central pane in exposed box with gauged head, smaller similar sash under eaves
left and right. Interior: panelled doors, central hallway has dog-leg stair
with moulded handrail, straight and twisted stick balusters; room to left has
cupboard with shaped shelves; windows have internal panelled shutters.
