House. Early C19 with C20 alterations and additions. Rendered, stone
dressings, hipped slate roof with gable stacks. U-plan including 2 projecting
wings to front. Classical style. 2 storeys, 1:1:1 windows, all 16-pane
sashes with keystone, stepped voussoirs and cill, 2 centre ground floor windows
of 9 panes each in plain reveal with cill, central 6-panelled and fielded door
in plain opening, C20 conservatory added between 2 wings; west side has 2 C20
casements, east side has one. Rear has 4 windows, all 2-light casements of
4 panes each side, panelled and glass door to left, 4-panelled door in 2nd bay
from right. Interior: staircase with flat balusters, copied from Old Manor,
Elberton, Aust (q.v.), 6-panelled doors with panelled cheeks and soffit, plain
cornices, corridor divides living accommodation from servants' quarters, where
doors are 4-panelled.
