Farmhouse. Originally C16 single-storey house, C17 rebuilding with later
additions and alterations. Rubble, roughcast, stone tiled roof at front,
double Roman tiled rear, brick gable stacks to right and left of centre. L-plan,
former through passage. 2½ storeys, 2 storey wing set back to left and break
in roof and wall line to right of main door, 1:3 windows, main block has all
3-light timber casements, 2 dormers, each with 2-light casements and terracotta
finials, C20 door in 2nd bay from left in porch with hipped roof on timber piers;
lower wing has ground and 1st floor C20 windows and door with porch with pitched
roof on rubble pier, C20 single storey extension to left; joists projecting
under eaves are shaped to right of main door, plain to left. Rear has all C20
windows including small central light to stair, possible former dairy wing at
north end. Interior: ground floor former hall ceiling divided into 4 panels
by deeply chamfered beams, lower wing has hollow chamfered and scroll-stopped
joists to ground floor ceiling, also former through passage, heavy bressumer
over fireplace and bread oven with early C19 iron door.
