Farmhouse. Late C17, possibly a remodelling of a late C16/early C17 farmhouse.
Random rubble and Bridgewater tile roof; rubble end stacks. A vernacular,
gabled farmhouse with an L-plan. 2 storeys and attics in 2 steep stone gables.
Three 2- and 3-light casement windows with scroll moulded mullions and surrounds.
Central gabled projecting porch with a chamfered surround under a dripmould and
with a sundial over: inner C20 door in ovolo moulded surround. Interior:
chamfered beams with scroll and step stops; plain spice cupboard in hall;
internal stair turret in rear service wing, newel and solid oak treads; tie and
collar beam trusses and staggered purlins. (Hall, L, Rural Houses of North Avon
and South Gloucestershire, 1983).
