Cottage. Circa 1500 with C17 and late C17 alterations and additions, C19 and C20 alterations and renovation. Timber-framed and plastered, red pantiled roof and red brick ridge stack. One storey and attic. Original three unit plan with open all of one bay, extended by one bay to east and with modern outshut on east and north sides. Two C20 doors, one casement window to left hand and one canted hung sash bay window. Three flat roofed dormer windows with casements.
Interior: Substantial timber-frame exposed in floored bay of west room with evidence for one of perhaps two doors in east closed truss of hall. Evidence also of open hall in smoke blackened timbers of west closed truss. Chimney stacks and floor frame to hall C17. Staircase with flat balusters and faceted finials to newel posts. Late C17 replacement roof. Original first floor blocked mullioned window.
The building is similar in plan to No 15 North End, Bassingbourn-cum-Kneesworth.
