House. Early C17 and early C19. Timber framed with roughcast rendered, brick
plinth. Hipped slated roof with side chimney stacks and internal stack. Two
storeys and semi basement. Original C17 building to rear with three unit
plan, roofed in common with early C19 parallel range to front. Three 'bay'
symmetrical facade, six-panelled door with rectangular fanlight, reeded
architrave with corner bosses and cornice canopy supported on shaped brackets;
two ground floor and three first floor flush framed hung sash windows, outer
windows with sixteen panes and window above door with twelve panes. Interior
remodelled in C19 with open string staircase. Exposed timber frame and floor
frames. Large C17 cooking hearth in south room with fine clunch fireplace
with moulded and stopped four-centered arch in first floor room.
