Hildersham Hall
GV II
Lodge. Early C19. Painted gault brick, slated pyramidal roof extending
beyond building forming an open verandah. Central chimney stack with four
linked shafts. One storey, symmetrical square plan with main entrance in
canted projection. Door with six-deeply-moulded panels with pointed arches
to upper panels. Windows with drip moulds, two-light Gothic casements with
glazing bars. Posts and arches to verandah of timber rods, clustered in
threes for posts and shaped to elliptical arches. Contemporary with the hall
and probably designed by E Lapidge (Pevsner).
