Circa 1630-40. Built probably by the Wildebore family. Large coursed rubble
and ashlar house with steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof. Two storeys and
attic. Four window range. Gabled on left and gabled 2 storey and attic porch
on right. The porch was intended to have been the centre feature with a balancing
wing on the right, but this was either never carried out or has been demolished.
Part of the base wall and skeleton window remain to indicate this.
The gables are ogee-shaped and have ball finials at the apices and at the feet
and have ovals in the tops of the gables. There is a similar gabled dormer
at the centre. Two, 3 and 4-light stone mullion windows. The door surround
is rusticated and pedimented, with round arched doorway with large vermiculated
keyblock and moulded impost. Moulded string courses.
On the north side there is another 2 storey and attic porch with a rusticated
round arch, and an ogee-shaped gable.
Large rusticated chimney stacks with cornices and pulvinated friezes.
Late C19 wing at rear with C19 stone mullion windows.
Interior: contains contemporary stone door frames, one massive arched frame
with keyblock and impost mould.
