C17, brick tunnel vaults with long central east-west passage
covering an area approximately 70 x 90 feet which suggests they
were built specifically for the C17 mansion. The well and some
earlier wall materials may have mediaeval origins. Entrance to
the vaults faces east and was built by Joseph Medworth c.1816
for access to the well.
