A pair of late C18 or early C19 yellow gault brick houses filth a parapet
and stone string course. 3 storeys and cellars. 5 window range, double-hung
sashes with glazing bars, in plain reveals. The 2nd storey windows have
ornamental iron window guards. The doorways are approached by steps
and have 4-panel doors with semi-circular fanlights with fan glazing.
They are set in recessed brick reveals with fluted quadrant columns.
Roofs slate.
Nos 20, 22, 22A, Nos 20 to 30 (even), Nos 34, 36, 36A, 38, Nos 40 to 60 (even)
form a group with Nos 13 to 29 (odd) & 29A, Parson's Almhouses & Nos 1 to
5 (odd) Downham Road.
Also Nos 20, 22, 22A, Nos 24 to 30 (even), 34, 36, 36A, 38, Nos 40 to 60 (even),
Nos 13 to 29 (odd) & 29A, Parson's Almshouses form a group with No 20 Church Lane
and the Parish Church of St Mary.
