GV II

House, late C16. Close-studded timber frame of high quality,
plastered. Steeply pitched side purlin, Queen-post truss roofs,
plain tiled. Tall stack in angle, of clunch and local brick.
Facade to east cased in gault brick c.1830. Two storeys with
cellar and attics. Main entrance facade facing east has two
hipped dormer windows with leaded light casements. Two first
floor, twelve-paned hung sash windows recessed in cambered
gauged brick arches and two ground floor hung sash windows with
side lights and glazing bars. Central six-panelled door in
moulded wooden architrave with panelled reveals, columns and
pediment a modern addition. Interior has original framed walls
dog-leg staircase and fine early C17 first floor panelled room
with original chimney piece.
