House. 1930 by George Checkley. Brick, rendered and painted. Flat roof
behind parapet. Plan: International Modern style house of rectangular
plan with central entrance hall and 2 storeys with smaller third storey
set back at centre of roof terrace. Exterior: Symmetrical 2-storey east
front with central entrance and bands of windows to left and right.
Smaller band of windows on first floor and 2 windows in third storey set
back on roof terrace. Original metal-frame casements and wooden sills.
Later glazed door. At rear west, the centre rises to 3rd storey and not
quite symmetrical; some of the windows replaced and small single storey
addition to right of centre. Interior: Central entrance hall with winder
stair at back with solid balustrade.
