Late C17 coaching inn refronted mid C19. Local brown brick;
slate roof, end stacks. Two storeys with attics; C19 extension
to right hand. Street facade, painted brick with rusticated
stone quoins and window architraves. Two, gabled casement
dormer windows. Four, recessed first floor hung sash windows,
and four similar ground floor windows. Two main entrances,
central doorway boarded. Building occupies a focal point in
street opposite church and entrance to Market Place.
