House. Early-mid C18, incorporating remains of C17 structure. Front
range is of vitreous and brown brick with red brick quoins and surrounds to
openings; rear wing also brick in English bond with attached brick
range of former outbuildings. Coved wooden eaves to front. Old tile
roofs, brick chimneys flanking front wing. L-plan. 2 storeys,cellar, and
attic, 2 bays to front. C20 4-pane sashes with segmental heads to ground
floor; old 3-light leaded casements with cambered heads to first floor; 2 old
paired leaded casements in hipped dormers with moulded cornices. Central
half-glazed door with wooden cornice hood and blind panel above. Left
side of rear wing also has old leaded casements and C20 entry in angle.
Irregular casements and C20 verandah to right side. Lower range of former
outbuildings with irregular casements, C20 chimney, and curved principal
trusses. Interior of house: heavy chamfered spine beams and some wall
timbers in rear wing; front left room has high dado of C17 moulded panels,
and corner fireplace with wooden arch and cornice; room above lined
with similar panelling; room to ground floor right has fireplace with
late C18 wooden frame and cornice, and boarded cupboard to left with
old hinges and open frieze of shaped slats.
