House. 1851 by William Butterfield, extended 1875 in similar style.
Red and buff brick, steeply pitched tiled roofs, brick chimneys with
heads corbelled on projecting headers. 2 storeys, with attic to south
wing. North front has slightly projecting gabled wing to LH with added
gabled porch on its RH. 3-light mullioned window to ground floor, 2-light
above both with shallow pointed relieving arches. Similar 3- light window
to RH of porch, and two upper windows breaking the eaves with swept roofs
RH part added 1875. S. front has original gable on RH, 3-light windows
the ground floor with heavy shouldered mullions. Large S. wing in centre
with hipped roof and flanking gables, large square bay window with
hipped tiled roof to ground floor with large pointed brick with bricks
laid diagonally in the tympanum relieving arch above. Flanking 2-light
mullioned 1st floor windows and attic windows all with pointed relieving
arches. Service wing to LH side.
