House. C15 or early C16 hall house, altered C17 and later. Timber frame
with some plaster infill but mostly C18 and C19 brick, colourwashed to N.
elevation. Old tiled roof, 2 brick stacks on ridge. 2 storeys and attic.
3 bay central block, 2 western bays the former open hall, eastern bay
added C17. S.W. wing partly C17, partly C19. N.E. wing, former dairy,
C18, with hipped roof. N. elevation has porch, apparently C17, brick
with shallow arched lintel, gabled roof and side openings with splat
balustrades. 6 panel door, 3-light casements each side and 2 similar
above. Dairy wing to LH with one 3-light window, roof swept down over
open area on right. Interior N. post and tiebeam of former central truss
of the open hall with mortice for arch brace. Large C17 central chimney
with inglenook, chamfered spine beam in W. room.
