Lodge cottage, late C18/early C19, extended in C20. Yellow-grey bricks, Flemish
bond, roofed with c20 red clay tiles. Octagonal with central chimney stack
and pyramidal roof, originally divided into 2 rooms. Single storey. Single
storey extension to E, roughcast rendered, with external chimney stack at end,
early C20. Flat roofed extension in matching brickwork to S, late C20. All
windows are C20 casements. Shown without extensions in Harlow tithe settlement
of 1849 (Essex Record Office D/CT 164).
