House, late C16, altered in C18. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with handmade
red clay tiles. In 2 builds (1) N crosswing, C16, (2) 4-bay house aligned N-S
with axial chimney stack in second bay from S, forming a lobby-entrance to the
E, c.1600. 2 storeys. 6-panel door in open pediment doorcase, C18, 3 C20
casement windows on ground floor and 4 on first floor. Roof of main block half-
hipped at both ends. The main range has chamfered axial beams with lamb's
tongue stops, original hearths (the interior of the S hearth rounded), edge-
halved and bridled scarfs in the wallplates, clasped purlin roof. The crosswing
has exposed framing internally, and a clasped purlin roof. It may not have been
a domestic building originally, but is now incorporated in the house.
