Pair of attached houses, C16, converted to cottages, disused in January 1984.
Timber framed, plastered, roofs thatched. 3-bay range aligned NE-sW with axial
chimney stack immediately NE of middle bay, C16, extended to NE by one bay in
C19. 3-bay range extending NW from NE end with 2 internal chimney stacks,
forming an L-shaped plan. C19 extensions to SE of first range and to NE of
second range. Single storey with attics. SW elevation, one 6-panel door with
top panels glazed, C18, one plain boarded door, C19. 3 C20 casement windows,
and 2 gabled dormers with C20 casement windows. NW end of roof half-hipped.
One stack has 3 round shafts, the other has one round shaft, all C20. The first
range has jowled posts, curved braces trenched inside studding, some wattle
and daub in partition wall, 2 axial beams, one cased in, the other chamfered
with lamb's tongue stops, and plain joists of horizontal section. The second
range has transverse beams with lamb's tongue stops.
