A C15 or early C16 timber framed and plastered building altered in the C18 and
later and now restored on the south-east front in C18 style, with plaster panels
in the upper storey. The 1st storey has 2 large mullioned and transomed windows,
slightly projecting, with glazing bars and a semi-circular arched centre lights.
A cornice and frieze runs above the 1st storey windows. The ground storey has
C20 shop fronts with a cornice and frieze above the shop windows. A long wing
extends north-west at the rear, approached at the north end by a carriageway
and at the south end by a covered passage way with exposed timber-framing and
a 4-centred archway with chamfered orders. The wing at the rear is 2 storeys
with exposed timber framing on the 1st storey on both sides. On the south west
side the windows are horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars on the 1st
storey and double hung sashes on the ground storey and on the north east side
double-hung sashes with glazing bars. Roof slate on the main block and tiled
at the rear. RCHM (21).

Nos 73 to 77 (odd) form a group with Nos 90 to 96 (even), 100, 102, 106 and 112.
