A fine post mill with sails dating from circa 1680. It was moved to its present site in 1830 when the brick 2 storeyed round house base was erected. It is weather-boarded, with a tail pole and a sack hoist. It is the first post mill in the country to be taken over by a local authority as an historical monument on being given to the Urban District Council by the Tabor family in 1929. At that time the mill was in full working order.
