Long-jetty house, early C16, extended in C19. Timber framed, plaster marked
in imitation of stone blocks, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 5 bays
aligned approx. N-S, aspect E, with axial chimney stack near middle. Extension
to N with external chimney stack at end, and extension to W of it with internal
chimney stack, C19, forming an L-plan. 2 storeys. E elevation, 6-panel door
at front of flat-roofed porch (no. 3), 4-panel door (no. 2), 3 C20 casement
windows. Full-length jetty, plastered, 4 hollow-moulded brackets visible below.
First floor, 3 C20 casement windows. In N extension (no. 1) one C20 casement
window on each floor. 4 grouped diagonal shafts on central chimney stack.
Interior above ground floor has joists with double-ogee mouldings and elaborate
foliate stops, beams have double-ogee mouldings. Above first floor there is
an original timber ceiling, the beams and wallplates richly carved in a helical
foliate design, deeply cut and fringed, the joists double-ogee moulded with
foliate stops. Side-purlin roof with arched wind-braces.
