Woollen carding mill, now private house. Late C18 with extensive alterations of
1903 for John Daniel Banks. Cement render and roughcast walls with Lombard
frieze eaves, under Welsh slate roof, with fish-scale greenslate pavilions
surmounted by weather vanes; rendered chimney stacks. 3 storeys, 3 bays, with
flanking 3-storey angle towers. Top-glazed door and C20 casement windows in
cement surrounds under pediments. See Transactions Cumberland & Westmorland
