of Eggleston Hall
GV II
Ice house to Eggleston Hall (q.v.). Probably C18. High earth mound, with
entrance on west side formed by ashlar lintel on rubble piers. Interior shows
straight, barrel-vaulted passage c. 2 metres long to paired barrel-vaulted
chambers; V-plan front pier, on dividing wall, supports rough segmental arches.
High rear openings, the right one blocked. Floored with earth to level of
entrance.
