Cottage, C17, extended in C19 and C20. Timber-framed, plastered, roofed with
corrugated tiles. 2 bays with timber-framed chimney at NE end. External
brick chimney stack added to NW in C19, lean-to extensions to NW and SW, C19.
Originally thatched. Substantially extended to SW and NE in 1969, and roof
re-clad with corrugated tiles. Single-storey with attics, 2-storey C20
crosswing to NE. All windows are C20 casements. 3 gabled dormers.
Interior and exterior much altered. The principal feature of historical and
architectural value is the timber-framed chimney, infilled with wattle and
daub, virtually intact, a rare survival. It was in use with an open fire
until October 1982, then converted for use with a wood-burning stove, and
hearth lined with brickwork. See Planning Application W/DUN/31/69 for
