NZ 11 NW WINSTON LITTLE NEWSHAM

5/57 Ivy Cottage

GV II

Cottage. Probably early Cl9 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble with
roughly-dressed quoins; pantiled roof; two rendered gable stacks of brick.
Central C20 glazed door within open timber porch; large 16-pane fixed lights
to left and right have horizontal sliding 6-pane sections, raised sills and
flush lintels. First floor has blank central bay and 12-pane horizontal sliding
sashes to left and right with monolithic jambs and deep reveals. External stack
to left gable. Single-storey outshut to rear. Roof of moderate pitch with
swept eaves has slightly-raised verge to left. Included for group value.
