Probably C18 origin. Formerly the Red Lion Inn. Stone walls - part plastered,
tiled roofs, brick stacks. Two storeys. Churchfield House has ledged door in
plastered porch with parapetted gabled roof. Ground floor has one double-hung sash
window and one horizontally sliding sash, both with glazing bars. First floor has
three double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. Main ground floor room has large
open fireplace with curing chamber. West Cottage has modern porch similar to that
of Churchfield House. Ground floor has two double-hung sash windows with centre bar
only. First floor has two casement windows with glazing bars. One ground floor
fireplace has a C18 moulded timber surround. Both houses have modern rear
extensions. Under repair at time of survey.
