Small detached cottage. Mid-late C17. Rubble stone walls, thatched roof,
hipped at right end, one brick end stack. At right angles to road. One
storey and attic. Single-storey lean-to at left end, with asbestos slate
roof. Part glazed ledged door. Ground floor has one casement and one
horizontally sliding sash window, both with glazing bars. Attic has two
½-dormers with horizontally sliding sashes with glazing bars. Main ground
floor has large open fireplace - part built up. One stop-chamfered ceiling
beam. Roof structure appears original. Largely unaltered. A National
Trust property. RCHM Monument 8. (Dorset Vol. II).
