Detached cottage.C16 origin, altered in C17 and C18. Walls originally of
timber framing, part rebuilt in brick, and now brick infilled. Thatched
roof. Brick end stacks and one left of centre. One storey and attic.
Original, central section of 2 bays - this of open hall origin with cruck
truss. Stack inserted in cross-passage and bay on left added in C17, right
bay added C18. Roof line right of stack at higher level. Wide boarded ledged
door in open timber porch. Ground floor has one casement with glazing bars, 3
with lead lights, and a canted bay window with hipped tiled roof and casements
with lead lights. Attic has 4 dormers with casements, 2 with glazing bars, 2
with lead lights. Small circular window over door. Internally, several
original timber framed partitions and exposed ceiling beams. Large open
fireplaces with timber lintels in central stack. Exposed true cruck truss in
