ST 3703 THORNCOMBE HIGH STREET,
SOUTH SIDE
7/114 Higher Farm House
GV II
Farmhouse c.C18. Brick walls rendered on street and rear facades. Corrugated
asbestos slate roof. Brick stacks on ridge centrally, and at each gable.
Doorway at rear. 1 1/2 storeys with central buttress. Five-six window range,
including 4 dormers with C20 casements, weatherboarded gables and sides. Stone
coping to North-East gable. Gable-wall features; red brick with open
lozenge of burnt headers. One brick and one heavy rubble stone buttress.
The gable-wall is a distinctive feature when coming up the street.
