Row of cottages, now shops and offices. Early C16, partly rebuilt and
extended early C17, altered C18, altered and extended late C20. Part
timber framed with brick infill, and partly encased, part painted brick;
Old tile gabled roof, half hipped on north end. Rectangular plan of 6
framed bays in front range; 2 rear extensions of 2 and 3 framed bays. 2
storeys. Road front:- Nos. 22 and 24, 26, Cl9 sash windows on first floor;
Late C20 shop fronts on ground floor with semi-circular arched openings to No.
24, splayed inwards to No.22. To the right of this a yard entry with C19
angular bay and gablet over. Nos. 26 and 28, 4 C18 sash windows with glazing
altered, in moulded architrave frames; a small fixed light to left of left
hand sash. 2, C20 shopfronts on ground floor. Thin timbers visible in
north gable. Interior:-parts of frame visible with jowled posts of good
quality.
