House. Early C18. Vitreous brick with red dressings, old tile gabled
roof. Central staircase plan. 2 storeys and basement. Flanking
chimneys, chamfered plinth. Moulded brick string at first floor level,
moulded brick eaves cornice. 3 bay front. Sash windows with glazing
bars, altered on ground floor. 6-panel central door with wreath
scroll knocker; 3-pane rectangular fanlight with delicate pattern
of circles. Door approached by flight of stone steps and landing at
right angles to front with wreathed iron handrail. Garage door to
right with casement over, set back to line of adjoining house, No.41
(listed separately 17/33). Interior:- 6 brick steps to basement
which has 2 brick vaults. Early Cl8 staircase, with stick balusters,
round moulded newels and plain handrail. Marble fireplace in dining
room. Queen strut roof with butt purlins, which may be earlier.
