House and outbuilding, now offices and flats. Circa 1600 with C19
and C20 additions and alterations. Roughcast render over timber
frame, with brick extensions and tiled roofs. L plan with former
C17 out building, extended C19, forming arm of L to north-east;
C19 extension to north-west and flat roofed C19 extension with
lean to covered way extending along north elevation; three cross
gables to south, that to east standing forward as cross-wing. 2
storeys and attic on old house, one and a half storey on out
building; small gabled dormer and gable over staircase on north
side of old house, small gabled dormer between crosswing and cross-
gable on south side of old house, four flat roofed dormers on east
of out building; large chimney with three stacks, outer two
diagonal, centre square, to west of centre of ridge between cross
gables on old house, chimney on ridge towards rear of cross wing,
two side chimneys on east elevation. South Elevation:- cross wing
breaks forward to right with iron framed leaded casements, 3-light casement
in gable, 4-light casement on first floor and two 3-light casements on
ground floor; to left one 3-light casement below each gable and 2
french casements with marginal glazing below these, 2-light casement
adjacent to cross-wing above 3-light casement; 6 panel door with
upper panels glazed under porch of 2 Tuscan columns and pediment,
between french casement and 3-light casement. Interior:- timber
frame exposed on upper floors; 4 bay frame including short chimney
bay and 2 bay cross-wing.
