Sundial. Dated 1847, by Watkins and Hill, Charing Cross, London. Stone with
bronze dial and gnomen. Octagonal base, with square plan stem, with clustered
nook shafts, changing the plan to clover-leaf composed of 4 capital-shaped
heads supporting clover-leaf shaped dial with simple gnomen. Inscribed on dial
plate with fleur-de-lys and makers' names around the crown of the stem is
inscribed "Time passeth away like a shadow
Man is like a thing of nought"
