1788/9. Built by Francis Hiorn (1744-89) for his own use and that of Richard
Kyte. Described as "newly erected" in his will. Sandstone ashlar, three
storeys with one storey flanking wings. Pyramidal slate roof with projecting
modillion eaves cornice. Flanking wings have lean-to roofs masked by shaped
parapets. Central three bays are carted and have one range each of casements
with glazing bars in segmental-headed openings. One casement with glazing bars
in each of the flanking bays set in blind arch. Pedimental gable at rear. The
farm is a rustic variant of Asgill House, Richmond (Sir Robert Taylor: 1753).
