- II
House, latterly library, now Youth Centre. Probably early to mid-C19
with mid-C19 alterations. Brick, rendered at front, with hipped slate roof.
Facade symmetrical, of three storeys and five bays. Windows have rendered
sills and lintels. On the ground floor they are sashed with no glazing bars,
on the first floor sashed, and on the second floor 6-pane sashes. A sandstone
porch projects forwards to form a porte cochère, carried on two pairs of Ionic
columns with paired pilaster responds. Above the entablature, which has a
pulvinated frieze, is a rendered blocking course which forms a balcony parapet.
The central first floor window is aediculed, the entablature continuing to
each side, terminating above further Ionic pilasters, and forming a frontis-
piece above the porch. Chimney behind ridge towards left of facade.
