GV II

House. Circa C17 timber-framed refronted in brick in C18, east flank wall
rebuilt in brick in C19, and extended to west with matching wing in C19. The
early portion which is on the left is on a tall sandstone plinth. Timber-framed
rear gable wall and some internal framing. Twin gabled front of painted brick.
Steeply pitched modern plain tile roofs with gabled ends. Two storeys and
attic, three bays. Steps up to C19 moulded wooden doorcase with pediment and
6 panel door. To left and right C19 canted bay windows with flat roofs and
leaded lights. At first and attic floors are two-light casements; those to
first floor with leaded lights, and to attic with glazing bars. Red brick
chimney stacks. Interior: two large chamfered and stop ended ceiling beam
to ground floor of early portion. Sandstone ashlar lined half cellar; C19
staircase; C18/19 doors.
