Farmhouse. Early C18. Red brick with blue headers on partial ironstone plinth,
and new concrete tiled roof to front slope, asbestos to rear. Two storeyed,
five bays, the facade altered in parts. To the left a patch of C19 brickwork
with blue diaper work and C19 2-light casement window with cambered brick head.
Blocked C18 door with red and blue brick cambered head, and C19 squared bay
window projection. Inserted doorway to right of this with flat timber lintel,
and C18 3-light casement window with cambered brick head beyond. On the first
floor, three 2-light wood mullioned and transomed windows, and two blocked
smaller openings, one with steeply arched brick head. Gable and axial stacks.
Rear wing partially C19. Interior has spinebeams, inglenook, and original
very plain stairway. Roof apparently predates the existing house and is late
C16 or C17, with wind braces to principal rafters, reputedly smoke blackened.
