Anglican parish church, of unknown dedication. C15 tower but the body of the
church was altered in the late C18 and restored with the addition of a south aisle
and porch in 1874, possibly by the Lord of the manor, George Smart. Consists
of a west tower, nave and north porch, south aisle and apsidal chancel. Ashlar
and coursed squared rubble; slate roofs with coped raised verges. West tower
is C15; of 3 stages with diagonal buttresses, an embattled parapet with pinnacles;
2-light bell chamber windows with cusped heads and pierced quatrefoil screens;
2-light west window; projecting polygonal stair turret to north-east. Y-tracery
windows to the nave. Three 2-light windows to south aisle and chancel. Project-
ing gabled north porch with embattled parapet. Interior: arcade of 3 bays. All
fittings are late C19. Monuments: Robert Smith, died 1755, by Ford of Bath in
a rococo style inscribed marble plaque surmounted by arms, urns and a flat obelisk.
John Bennett, died 1719, inscribed marble plaque flanked by Corinthian columns,
segmental pediment with arms.
