Norman archway pieced together from fragments of probably 2 doorways removed
from the parish church (at Church Square)at rebuilding in 1830. Enriched chevron
and 'T' form orders with beads, jumbled on east side. Each side capped by
hood mould carved with saltire crosses - probably from different, earlier openings.
Impost has joined cushion caps; bases linked by curvilinear moulding. These
fragments may come from a chancel and sanctuary arch, or from north and south
doors.
