Former stable block and coach house to the new demolished Pavenham Bury,
converted to form two new dwellings. Built about 1860, mainly of coursed
limestone rubble. The rear wing (Stable Lodge) of gault brick. Old clay tile
roof. Arranged around three sides of a courtyard with projecting rear wing.
Central block of one storey and attics. Stone gable coping. Three projecting
ashlar dormers with gable coping and moulded kneelers. Cast iron honeycomb
pattern windows. Ground floor has three large shallow arches, originally
carriage arches. These are now blocked up and with 4-light casement windows
with high level transoms. Doorway arch on R.H. side recessed up two steps.
Similar E. and W. wings. E. block has two ventilation louvres in roof.
Windows are a mixture of cast iron casements and C20 ones with glazing bars.
Brick rear wing has C20 box dormers. Bracketed moulded orick eaves. Ground
floor metal French doors with fanlights. Brick panel above each door with
slightly cambered moulded brick arches.
