House. Probably of C17 origin reworked C18, with some C19 alterations. Red
brick with flared headers, rear elevation in English bond, other elevations in
Flemish bond. Steep hipped clay tile roofs. Double-pile plan, formed by U-
shaped block wrapped around a central staircase. 2 storeys and attics. SW
elevation: central 6 panel door, surmounted by rectangular fanlight with
diamond glazing bars in simple moulded architrave. C20 shallow open porch. To
L of this is C20 bay window. To R of doorway and to first floor are C19 2-
light casements with glazing bars. Gauged brick flat heads to C19 windows
ground floor one replaced in yellow brick. Brick band at first floor level. NE
elevation: central recessed staircase bay has pyramidal roof, with pyramidal
roofed dormers to side elevations. In front of this, filling space between
outer bays, is C19 lean-to which cuts across 2 blind first floor windows of
staircase block. Outer blocks each have one window per floor, first floor
ones 2-light casements with glazing bars, LH ground floor one blind, RH ground
floor one a C20 replacement. Most windows have gauged brick flat arches.
Brick bands at first floor level. C19 single storeyed outbuilding adjoins to
RH. Side elevations: both have integral multiple chimney stacks. These are
ornamented with moulded bands, blind arcading and dentil cornices. lid side
has hipped dormer containing 2-light casement.
