Facing down Blagrave Street. 1887. Sculptor George Simmonds, son of one of Readings notables. Large Carrara marble statue of the Queen Empress in commanding and appropriate attire. High plinth with moulded cornice and base on wide step which has red granite corner bollards. Inscription tablet facing Blagrave Street.
