Cottage. C15/C16 with later and C20 alterations and additions. Timber framed
and plastered. The rear rendered with cockleshell decoration "by E.G.". Red
plain tiled gambrelled roof outshot to centre with forward gambrelled wing to
right. Central and right red brick chimney stacks. One storey and attics. 2:1
window range of C20 leaded casements. Dormer to left with vertically sliding
sash window. C20 doors to left and outshot left return. Sun Insurance plaque
to return gable. Internal features include stop chamfered bridging joists,
heavy close set wall studs, re-used medieval timber. 3 board door, moulded
rails and muntins, restored inglenook fireplace. 2 panelled corner cupboards
one with painted vault and fluted side pilasters, the other with guiloche
edging. Originally named Pilton Manor, a moated site, part of moat remains.
