House. C17 or earlier rear range with C18 front range and later alterations.
Timber framed and plastered. Front rear hipped grey slate gambrel roof with 2
dormers. 2 storeys and attics. Modillioned eaves cornice. 3 window range of
small paned vertically sliding sash windows. Central flat headed porch with
moulded cornice. Segmental pointed archway, stained glass sidelights with
gothic heads. Panelled door with top light. Rear left return, 2 storey range
with red plain tiled roof, moulded eaves cornice, 3 window range to first floor
of small paned vertically sliding sashes. Part glazed door, flat canopy on
brackets. Interior features include inglenook fireplace with mantel beam over.
Stop chamfered bridging joists. Corner cupboard. Documentary evidence relates
to medieval origin. Named East Bowers at one time.
