II
This house is said to have a C15 or C16 origin. The front as existing appears to be largely early or mid C19 Gothic Revival work, but the central oriel may be partly original. Front is two storey, three window, stone, with two gables. Between these is a carved parapet. Four-light stone mullioned windows with cusped heads to lights, the central first floor window being an oriel. Four-centred arch and carved spandrels to doorway. East side has two large splayed bays with French windows. The L-shaped wing at the back is in a simpler style. Interior has interesting early Gothic Revival woodwork.
No 31 Newland and east range, Sherborne House, Front and rear garden walls of Sherborne House, No 41, The Manor House, 3 cottages next to The Manor House, 2 cottages adjoining, Nos 57 to 93 (odd) and north-east boundary wall to Newland Close form a group.
