House, C17 to the right of front door and probably C18 rebuild to the left.
Coursed rubble to the right and brick (Flemish bond) to the left. (Both
sections were rendered until recently) Tiled roof with gable ends. Brick
end stacks and to right of centre. Possibly originated as 3 room cross-
passage plan with stack backing on to the cross passage. 2 storeys. 4
window range. Small octagonal window over door. C20 3-light wooden case-
ment windows with concrete and wooden lintels and horizontal glazing bars.
C20 porch and glazed door to left of stack. Internal features: middle room
has a ceiling with intersecting deep chamfered beams and wall plate together
with traces of a former plank and muntin partition; fireplace with shallow
chamfered bressummer; some early panelling and doors which may be reset;
timber mullioned window, possibly reset; original roof trusses still in situ,
under C20 roof. Various C17 features such as stone mullioned windows are said
to have been removed. "RCHM Dorset Vol III", p 93 no 5.
